Porsche 928 Stainless Steel Bash Guards (1987–1995)

$245.00

Serious protection for your Porsche 928.

Legendary Lotus founder Colin Chapman famously championed the philosophy of "Simplify, then add lightness."

We respect that philosophy. We really do.

But when it comes to protecting the underside of a Porsche 928, we decided to take a slightly different approach.

Lightness was not the assignment!

Why stainless steel?

The Porsche 928 sits low, leaving its front lower suspension components vulnerable to contact with road debris, uneven surfaces, steep driveways, and unexpected obstacles.

While aluminum is a popular choice for aftermarket skid plates thanks to its low weight, it isn't necessarily the best material when abrasion and wear resistance are the priorities.

That's why we chose 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) 304 stainless steel.

Compared with commonly used aluminum alloys, 304 stainless steel offers greater hardness and resistance to abrasive wear. When a protective plate encounters rough pavement, gravel, or other abrasive surfaces, those properties matter.

Stainless steel also provides excellent corrosion resistance, making it well suited to the demanding environment underneath a vehicle.

Yes, it's heavier than aluminum. Considerably heavier.

But these guards weren't designed to shave seconds off a lap time. They were designed to take the punishment so your Porsche doesn't have to.

Tough where it counts. Designed to give when it matters.

Strength isn't just about resisting damage. Sometimes, it's about managing it.

In addition to preserving access to the factory towing points, our bash guards incorporate an elongated cutout designed to introduce a controlled area of reduced stiffness.

Under a sufficiently severe impact, this section is intended to allow the guard to deform and absorb some of the impact energy, rather than transmitting the entire load directly into the mounting points and surrounding chassis structure.

It's a deliberate design consideration: combine the abrasion resistance of stainless steel with geometry that can yield under extreme loading.

Built to take a hit, but not necessarily to stay perfectly straight afterward.

Built tough. Finished properly.

  • 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) 304 stainless steel: Substantial protection with excellent corrosion resistance.

  • Precision laser-cut: Clean contours, consistent dimensions, and accurately positioned openings.

  • Brushed stainless finish: A clean, purposeful appearance.

  • Direct bolt-on installation: Uses existing factory mounting points. No drilling, cutting, or modifications required.

  • Factory towing access preserved: Purpose-designed cutouts align with the original openings in the front lower control-arm brackets.

  • Impact-management geometry: An elongated cutout creates a deliberately less rigid section, intended to encourage localized deformation and energy absorption under severe impacts.

  • Vehicle-specific fitment: Shaped to accommodate the 928's suspension geometry and surrounding underbody components.

  • Stainless steel mounting hardware included: Everything needed to install both guards.

  • Laser-engraved branding: Featuring the Sirius Fabrication logo and our design philosophy: "Lightness was not the assignment..."

Protection without compromising access

Not all bash guards are created equal.

Some aftermarket skid plates obstruct the factory openings in the Porsche 928's front lower control-arm brackets, potentially complicating towing and recovery.

Our guards incorporate carefully positioned elongated cutouts, with the rearmost opening shaped to match the original bracket opening. This preserves access for a suitable towing or recovery strap without requiring removal of the guard.

It's a small detail, but an important one. Protecting your Porsche shouldn't come at the expense of serviceability.

Straightforward, bolt-on installation

Designed to fit using the Porsche 928's existing factory mounting points, these bash guards install without drilling, cutting, or modifying the vehicle.

All necessary stainless steel mounting hardware is included, making installation straightforward and completely reversible.

No drilling. No modifications. Just bolt them on.

Designed from the ground up

These aren't generic metal plates adapted to fit a Porsche.

Development started underneath an actual 928, using cardboard templates to establish the correct contours and clearances.

Those templates were translated into precise CAD models, followed by multiple 3D-printed prototypes to validate fitment and refine the design.

Only after the geometry was finalized did the design move into production using 304 stainless steel.

The result is a purpose-built component developed specifically for the Porsche 928.

Vehicle compatibility

Designed for 1987–1995 Porsche 928 models, including:

  • Porsche 928 S4 (1987–1991)

  • Porsche 928 GT (1989–1991)

  • Porsche 928 GTS (1992–1995)

Developed and physically test-fitted on a 1987 Porsche 928 S4. Fitment on other listed models is based on the applicable suspension and underbody configuration.

Not compatible with 1978–1986 Porsche 928 models.

What's included

  • 2 × 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) 304 stainless steel bash guards (left and right)

  • Stainless steel mounting hardware

Sold as a complete pair.

Built for the road. Designed for the 928.

Because sometimes, overengineering is exactly the point.
