A reproduction set of the Porsche 9226/3 and 9226/4 camshaft adjustment gauges, used to verify the correlation between the intake and exhaust camshafts on applicable 32-valve Porsche 928 engines.
These gauges were reverse-engineered directly from original Porsche factory tools. The originals were carefully measured, photographed and recreated in CAD, with critical dimensions verified using caliper measurements. Physical prototypes were then compared directly against the original tools to confirm the profiles and dimensions.
The set includes both gauges:
Porsche specifies these gauges as part of Special Tool Set 9226 for checking camshaft correlation. The Workshop Manual notes that their use was discontinued for the standard M28.41/42 engines beginning with model year 1987. Porsche later specifies that the cylinder 1 and 5 adjustment gauges can again be used with the revised camshafts fitted to the 928 S4 Club Sport (M28.41, from MY88) and 928 GT (M28.47, from MY89).
